Nowadays going to the cinema isn't an everyday habit. And it has some good reasons.
One of them is the widespread downloading of films. Although it's illegal, almost everybody does it because it's cheap or free and fast and easy. You can download the films with the same time of their display. Moreover, their quality is impeccable.
The other reason is that the tickets are expensive. As a university student, I can't afford to buy a ticket for almost 1,000 forints. Furthermore, when I go to the cinema, I always want to buy coke and popcorn and this means extra costs for me.
However, watching a film in the movie house has a special athmosphere.
When the lights go out and you hear the different sounds around you which make you excited about the film. People are making noises around you which is not as annoying as at home. And the wide canvas gives the films another enjoyable feature. These remarks distinguishes the cinema-watching from home-watching.
Honestly, I like going to the cinema and watching films there. It has advantages and disadvantages, of course. But fortunately, there are cinemas who are cheaper than the big multiplexes and some of them organize the so-called movie weeks when you can watch films for a lower price. So, sometimes I can afford to watch movies, especially those which may have a peculiar scenery.

Cinema is really expensive, that's true... And it has a special athmosphere, but I don't really like it...I hate when I have to listening to other people's munching and slurping :D! I like much more watching a movie at home with my friends, or show my parents movies I like and after I love their indignant faces :)
Hi Barbi!
I agree with you that movie theatres do offer the spectators a way of watching films that no matter how many times you see it at home it just won't be the same. I felt this difference especially when I watched The Lord of the Rings in the cinema.:)
I agree, cinemas (especially the Cinema City in Plasas) are really expensive. But to tell the truth we don't have the possibility to download films, so in most of the cases we hire a film which is also an economical way to watch a movie, plus you can find thousands of old dvds..but you are right..a cinema has it's own, special atmosphere..may be that's why cinemas will never disappeare..
I love cinema, but unfortunately I don't go there too often. But last week I went to Apollo art cinema with my friends and watched a very interesting movie called Paris. It was about a man who has heart problems and he is waiting for transplantation. During his illness, he realised human values in an African immigrant, a young woman and so on. I recommend it to you:)
