Valentine's Day

Undoubtedly, that Valentine's Day is most people's favourite holiday. On 14 February lovers express their feelings to each other by sending Valentine's cards, flowers or giving corny gifts.
Honestly, I partly like this holiday, partly don't.
On the one hand, in Hungary it doesn't have such a big tradition as in the USA or in the UK. We just want to imitate them and sometimes it seems rather a lame attempt. Most people don't even know the origin of this holiday. And if you want to buy something for your beloved, you hardly ever find something special because you find the same things everywhere.
On the other hand, I like it because it's very splendid to show your love to somebody. Although I didn't buy an expensive present, I was satisfied to give a nice and personal present to my boyfriend.
In a nutshell, everybody likes getting presents from a person who admires us. This event is a good occasion to feel it!

Oh, yes, Valentine's Day...Well, I can agree with you that we aren't accustomed to such events as much as the Americans. But I think it's a successfull kind of imitation. Moreover, we can love our lovers every day, not just this day.:)

Hello Barbi!
First of all I really like your photo:)
On the other hand I agree with you. I don't like this day because I think it's just about business... I prefer to personal things just like you but it's enough for me if my boyfriend says on Valentine's day that I love you...(of course he says it every day)

Hello Barbi. I think Valentine's Day is not about love, even more it's business. My boyfriend and I have agreed that we didn't buy eachother gifts. And I also don't like this useless presents such as plush bear with heart in his arms, or little harts....
But I noticed wonderingly , that in spite of we said, that we don't bought gifts, we presented eachother.
